Deep in the remote heart of the Georgia Okefenokee Swamp, somewhere between the Alligators and the Cottonmouth vipers, this jewel of the south secretly resides amongst the dense mats of vegetation. Once adults, the males will color-up nicely, especially during spring breeding season. This is an expert level aquarist fish best kept as a species tank or housed with small fishes of similar size and fed tiny live foods. Feed brine shrimp then convert to frozen blackworms if possible/necessary. Access to Daphnia or mosquito larvae a huge plus. This is a very small fish perfect for planted nano tanks! This fish has very low oxygen requirements & prefers minimal water circulation/agitation as possible, to accomplish this raise the airstone to the top of the water column or use the smallest sponge filter with the clear tube extending upward. Ideal tankmates for this fish would include Leptolucania Ommata, Lucania Goodei & other very small fishes. This is a group of 5, males may be just starting to show tiny specks of blue coloring. Water temp 68-74 PH 5-7 Soft water with little or no dissolved minerals (RO or rainwater works good if you are unsure) $15 shipping, $5 shipping each additional species or group.
