This listing is for 10 pink ramshorn snails. Ramshorn Snails (the Planorbidae family) are an interesting addition to established tanks. While many aquarists purposefully introduce them into freshwater aquariums, many enter the ecosystem by accident!They tend to hitchhike on live plants and rocks. As a result, they�re pretty widespread in the fish-keeping world.Interestingly enough, Ramshorn Snails aren�t that easy to find in the wild. Some can be found living in streams and small ponds. However, most are seen in the aquarium trade.Whether you have purchased a Ramshorn Snail to keep as a pet or you have a new unexpected addition to your tank, keeping these snails healthy is very simple. They�re hardy creatures that will serve a functional purpose in your tank. These snails need good water parameters to thrive The most effective way to ensure this is by testing your water frequently (and with an accurate testing kit). Having the right information is the first step in protecting these adorable critters! Here are the levels you should pay attention to: Water temperature: 68�F to 84�F pH levels: 7.6 to 8.4 Water hardness: 12 to 18 kH nitrate/nitrite as close to 0ppm is best. Aside from these main levels to watch, you should also be aware of some additional requirements. They need a decent amount of calcium to thrive and help their shell grow. While some owners add it into the water with supplements, you can also feed them calcium-dense veggies as a way of introducing the mineral into the water. A win-win! They love canned green beans!!!
