"Peppermint" (light striped purple) Mystery snails

Peppermint mystery snails--aka light striped purple--are not magenta mystery snails. Magenta snails have a light foot and a purple shell base that has purple stripes. These Peppermint snails have a light foot and a light shell base with purple stripes. Most are about the size of a marble but you may receive snails that are slightly larger or smaller. If interested in other colors, please see my other listings. Please be aware that these darken as they grow and eventually look like a magenta snail.

Unlike their plant-eating apple snail cousins, these Pomacea diffusa~~aka Mystery Snails~~are perfectly plant safe. Similar to other freshwater snails, they eat leftover food, algae, and dead or dying plant matter. Unlike common aquarium snails, these snails need to be target-fed at least a few times a week with fresh veggies, algae wafers, and similar items. These snails will not breed out of control like other aquarium snails, they are sexual so need to have a male and a female for breeding. In addition, they lay their eggs above the water line in a large clutch, which is easy to remove.
