Baby Red and Pink Pearl Ramshorns

You are buying 10 of each, I am shipping 12 of each (or 15 of each with Buy it Now). These are BB size BABIES. Photos are all of the same group of snails, both with and without flash. Those with pale gold shells are the Reds, the clear shelled ones are Pink. I will bag them separately although they are too young to have bred yet.

This larger one is what in can expect your pink snails to look like in only weeks.

Why buy babies? Well, they are cheaper... But the biggest reason I can think of is that the white band they will develop will be minimal and covered quickly. Most snails, and especially ramshorns, stop growing new shell any time they experience a change in conditions. But their mantle continues strengthening the shell from the inside. This results in a slightly thicker and more opaque band like you can see in this picture. It doesn't hurt the snail but is unsightly. With young snails like this which are growing very fast, the shell is going to wrap around and cover that white band quickly.

If you keep these babies in normal tropical temps, 76F, and make sure they get enough food, you can expect them to begin breeding in a month or so, they grow really fast. These have perfect shells, they have been living in a little shrimp tank. I will be selecting the largest snails for you and by the time they are shipped they may be a bit bigger than BBs.

IMPORTANT: If you ever see ramshorns with white or yellow bodies, it's not a new strain, they are severely anemic! You can see a couple of pictures of an anemic snail beside a healthy one here and here. They will DIE if you cannot reverse their anemia.

The winner will receive a comprehensive care sheet which can be downloaded and printed if desired. Briefly, no acidic water, no soft water, no big fish. They will eat soft algae if hungry but live plants only if starving. Temps up to 80F. These make good companions for guppies, nano fish and easy shrimp.

Shipping... I am no longer offering heatpacks with any inverts. Please check your 10 Day forecast before bidding. If you will be having low temps under 30F please wait until your weather warms up before bidding.

Term details are on my Just Me page. Please read it before bidding. A copy of these terms is also included in this auction as commented out text and can be viewed by looking at the page source. Please do not bid if you cannot pay AND accept delivery promptly. The only reason I delay shipment is my weather.

Payment is by PayPal only, no e-checks. When paying with PayPal, you must use a shipping address. If you want shipping to an Unconfirmed address, email before bidding/buying to discuss this.

Shipping (one pound) is $8 in a #4 box (7"x7"x6") with a styro liner, snails will be divided between 2 bags, then double bagged. Shipping may be delayed if I am having significantly below freezing temps. Hold for Pickup is available and may be required at my discretion to destinations with extreme temperatures.

LAG for 20 snails for 3 days if >32F and <80F.

Some of my other auctions may be combined with this for savings on shipping costs.

Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK!
