People use them in fry tanks due to their non aggressive nature or in with delicate fish that need a clean up crew. Some people use them as feeders for puffers, assassin snails, loaches, aquatic turtles and other snail eating critters. Snails will be 1/4" or larger to be counted with smaller ones tossed in for free MTS also are great aerators of your substrate and help induce plant roots to spread giving your plants a better hold in your tank.
