They are great for cleaning your tank and gravel as well as filtering the water! These clams do NOT eat live plants! They eat any algae and leftover fish food in the tank. These clams sift through small organic particles in the water and sand and then release clean water back into the aquarium, as well as eat left over food maintain water quality and lower nitrate levels. These clams make great companions to guppies, mollies, netras and goldfish.
