50+ Ramshorns

This auction is for 50+ Ramshorns which are currently spotted but will mature to shades of light blue-gray. The snails you will receive will be BB to Pea sized, many old enough to breed. Some have good shells, some have cosmetic flaws which are not affecting the healthy of the snail.

Shown below are some flawed ones, not the best ones, none of those pictured are over 1/4" if that helps give a sense of scale. I will select the better shells first. Don't worry, I am not going to "keep the best ones for myself". These are all extras past my needs. I am trying to find the pet quality snails a good home instead of selling them as feeders for puffers.

FYI - Blue Ramshorns do not start out blue (they are not rare or Russian either). They begin with bodies that can be brown or gray or even warmer shades like pink and dull red. As they get older they begin to get very dark spots on the mantle. As young adults the spots get bigger and bigger until they merge giving the snail's body a very dark color. At the same time, the colorless shell gets thicker and thicker and begins to turn white (it's made of calcium carbonate). It is the combination of the dark mantle and the translucent white shell which gives them the blue coloration, exactly the same way Blue Mystery Snails look slate blue. When photographed they can sometimes look a bright robin's egg blue however that is not accurate and they will not look like that in your tank. I feel that using photos like that is misleading. Remember, if it seems to good to be true...

The winner will receive a comprehensive care sheet which can be downloaded and printed if desired. Briefly, no acidic water, no soft water, no big fish. They will eat soft algae if hungry but live plants only if starving. Temps up to 80F. These make good companions for guppies, nano fish and easy shrimp.

Term details are on my Just Me page. Please read it before bidding. A copy of these terms is also included in this auction as commented out text and can be viewed by looking at the page source. Please do not bid if you cannot pay AND accept delivery promptly. The only reason I delay shipment is my weather.

Payment is by PayPal only, no e-checks. When paying with PayPal, you must include the address you wish the package sent to.

Shipping is included in a #4 box with a styro liner. I am not offering heat packs because in this small box the risk of overheating the snails is too great. You have the option of USPS Hold for Pickup which I strongly recommended if it's cold. Shipping will be delayed if my low temps are 25F or less, here's my FORECAST.

LAG for 3 days if >35F.

Some of my other auctions may be combined with this for savings on shipping costs.

Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK!
