Description

fwlivebearersw1651196034 - Xiphophorus variatus (La Mintzita) RARE!!! commonly known as the 'Threadfin' or 'Featherfin' Rainbowfish. In Australia the 'Standard Names of Australian Fishes' published by the CSIRO lists them as 'Threadfin Rainbowfish'.riatherina werneri may grow to a maximum size of 5 cm, but are more commonly seen at around 3-4 cm. Mature males have a first dorsal fin that is fan shaped, while the second dorsal fin has exceptionally long filaments. The anal fin is similarly extended. This elegant finnage is used in a remarkably vivacious display for females and rival males. The fish are omnivorous and should be fed a quality flake food with supplemental proteins such as live foods. They require clean water and a well established tank, heavy with plants are ideal. We will only ship these eggs via UPS Next Day Air or USPS Express. Please email me your zip code for a shipping quote before placing a bid. We will send extra eggs in case some of the eggs get fungus or are unfertilized. We ship the eggs in distilled water that contains a small amount of Methylene blue. The use of Methylene blue is safe for the eggs, but not for the newly hatched fry, so a water change will need to be done once the eggs start to hatch if you choose to use Methylene blue .We can also include a zooplankton culture in green water (the best first live food for the newly hatched fry) for $ $10.00. We also offer a microworm starter culture, along with a small packet of yeast for $10.00 and a free sample of sera powdered micron food ( a little bit of this powder food goes a long way) .You can find information on my website www.rosaquatics.com on how to keep and grow the live food cultures offered in this auction. We can also include a handmade spawning mop, made by us, for $5.00. Please keep in mind that the eggs can take anywhere from 5 to 14 days to hatch, and the shipping date will depend on the age of the eggs, we try to send freshly laid eggs (1-2 days old) so that they don't hatch in transit. Also the shipping date will depend on the amount of eggs ordered versus the amount of eggs produced by my breeders. For example if you ordered 30 eggs and we give you a shipping date on a monday, and the fish only laid 20 of them on monday, then we will have to wait until the next day to collect the remaining 10 eggs. so an order may end up shipping a day or two later than the original ship date that's on the invoice. We won't ship eggs out any later than Wednesday. Depending on my breeders ability to produce the correct amount of eggs ordered, some orders may have to wait up to a week later than the original shipping date, however this rarely happens.
