Description

The iconic Carland Creek Rhad is extremely rare in the wild and has a blue front half and an orange back (see first photo at https://rainbowfish.angfaqld.org.au/Rhadino.htm). Rhads found in Carland Creek are blue and the famous color variant has only been collected once by Bruce Hansen and photographed by Neil Armstrong. I obtained my breeder fish from Leo OReilly who has bred these fish for more than 5 years and had one male with an orange tail in 2019. From the first generation of offspring, I had a few fish with red tails that I used for breeding last summer. A higher percentage of second generation fish have red tails now and some are starting to show some orange on their body. Here is a video of the second generation of Carland Creek Rhads that are currently for sale https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOEG-KX6SHI You are bidding on 10 juvenile Rhadinocentrus ornatus from Carland Creek that were bred outdoors last summer and are at the age of 6-9 months. You will get 1 fish or more with a red tail within the group. Females that appear blue now, can still develop red tails as the red shows up late in development. All fish have the recessive gene for red and are likely to have red tailed offspring. Photo shows a second generation juvenile male with orange. For more information and photos become a member of ANGFA and see the following publication: Adrian Tappin & Leo OReilly. Rhadical Rhads. Fishes of Sahul Vol 33 (1) March 2019. More fish are available for the winning bidder. PAY-PAL Payment ONLY. Payment must be sent within 24 hours of Auction end. USPS Shipping to CONTINENTAL US STATES ONLY. I do not fast stock until payment is made. Please make sure you will be there to receive package/delivery. Shipping USPS Express estimate is $50. These are estimates only, for exact shipping costs I will need a zip code. I will combine fish from other auctions in one package. Please also check out my other auctions. DOA policy (please read before bidding): Live delivery guaranteed ONLY WITH Shipping EXPRESS, delivery time is not guaranteed. I cannot be responsible if the USPS delays the delivery. Refund is given only on fish (or fish will be replaced) (not shipping costs). Picture of DOA fish in shipping bags must be sent within 2 hours of delivery for refund of fish. By placing and winning the bid you have read and agree to these terms.
