Description

You are bidding on six unsexed fish from 1-1.25�. There is at least one pair in the group though and probably a second one. At this size they are a little tough to sex. Aquarists have confused and even crossed Lake Sentani fasciata with C. sentaniensis. This fish is long and slender and has 9-12 dorsal rays whereas the fasciata has 11-16 and is quite a big broader from dorsal to anal fin. The fish pictured which is the producer of your fish has 10, as shown in the photo. It matters as this fish has pretty much become extinct in the creeks that feed into lake Sentani. Like any Chilatherina they like water changes and temps below about 78. Keep a tight lid on the tank as this species especially likes to jump. Like all Chilatherina they are in constant motion.
