Description

First time offered in North America! You are bidding on 4 juvenile Melanotaenia sp. �Wallace Road� that were tank bred/raised by me and are at the age of 5 months. I received my breeders from Johannes Graf in Germany. For a detailed description and more photos of the fish and the trip, see Johannes Graf�s report in Amazonas March/April 2017 page 64 to 70. This new and undescribed species is also called �Platy Rainbowfish� since it looks a bit similar to Platy livebearers. The middle rays of the dorsal fin are longer than the first and last rays, which is uncommon for rainbow fish. During display males turn dark copper-red and the edges of the dorsal fin become black. My adult breeders are mid-sized rainbow fish, slightly larger than M. maccullochi. The photos show an adult male, female and juvenile males that are about the size of the fish for sale. I will do my best to select both females and males thus you can breed the fish, however I do not guarantee a certain gender ratio. If you want to increase your chances of getting both sexes, more fish are available for the winning bidder at the auction price. Very limited numbers available at this point. Depending on how many fish the winning bidder will purchase, this might be the only auction for the next few weeks/months. PAY-PAL Payment ONLY. Payment must be sent within 24 hours of Auction end. USPS Shipping to CONTINENTAL US STATES ONLY. I will ONLY ship on Monday/Tuesday, i.e. if the auction ends on Friday, I expect payment by Saturday evening. I do not fast stock until payment is made. The fish will be shipped the following Monday/Tuesday. Please make sure you will be there to receive package/delivery. Shipping USPS Express estimate is $50.
