The Blue-Backed Blue-Eye Pseudomugil cyanodorsalis is a fantastic brackish water gem. This fish Is native to Northern Australia. Males display brilliant neon blue and yellow. They do not grow very large, both males and females reach barely over an inch in length. They do require some aquarium salt in the water. Ive kept and bred mine for several years in water that contains 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt / 5 gallons tap water. They are very tolerant of higher salinities and have been observed in the wild free living in the Indian Ocean. I have a friend who successfully keeps them in his mini reef tank. I have tried keeping them in completely fresh water but have not had long term success. They are easy to keep and breed. They eagerly accept a variety of flake and frozen foods. In addition, adults and fry love newly hatched brine shrimp. Healthy adults are nearly constant breeders. Eggs can be collected from mops or mops can be moved to another tank or occasional fry can be collected from the adult tank. In this auction you will receive 4 adult pair (3M,3F) at about 1 inch in length. Like all of our fish, they are tank raised here in Southern Ohio, healthy and active. Shipping via USPS Priority Mail is $18. Live arrival guaranteed. Thank you for looking!
