Description

You are bidding on three pairs of fish 3/4-1 inch. I brought this fish over to the US several years ago. It was one of the wonderful rainbowfishes that Heiko collected on the Aru islands. This is a gertrudae from the Aru Islands so they are considered �New Guinea� fish instead of the normal Australian gertrudaes that we normally see. They differ from other varieties of gertrudae as they have a very long, and some of the time, yellow, in the extended first ray of their anal fin for the males. On some of the fish it�s white. The same holds for their elongated pelvic fins. In this case all of the male fish for auction have white fins. Most of the time they have the top and bottom of their caudal fin tipped in gold. This characteristic hasn�t been fixed yet and the wild populations exhibit double tipped, single tipped and no tipped fins. All have a nice golden sheen in their body color. These fish do well on live baby brine shrimp and as they grow larger appreciate an occasional feeding of small live black worms or white worms.

If you�re tired of store bought crossed and washed out junk rainbowfish I have a better suggestion! Buy your rainbowfish from me. If you�re tired of seeing auctions that are just foisting the same Far East wholesaler as their own, buy your rainbowfish from me. You get what you pay for� I raise and breed more species and location (river) variants of rainbowfish than anyone else in the United States. My rainbowfish are all raised by me and not imported from some offshore farm. My aquariums are carefully marked to ensure that similar species are not mixed up or crossed. So many rainbowfish look very similar when they are small so attention to detail is vital. You will see in my listings rainbowfish that have never been offered EVER in the United States. You�ll get prompt and courteous service and you�ll get some great fish that you�ll enjoy for years to come.

When the auction ends on Saturday evening I would like to have an email by Sunday morning so I know whether a PayPal payment is coming shortly or whether we are waiting for a MO. Payment must be made within 5 days after the auction ends. If I am shipping on Monday morning your prizes need to have a good water change and go without food for 36 + hours so that they can be shipped to you in optimal shape. Without the 36 hour fast rainbowfish can easily get ammonia burn or worse.

Express mail shipping is $45 or less for those that live closer to St. Louis MO. Save some shipping dollars by buying more than one auction from me. You�ll pay the exact shipping price. Rainbowfish really need to have a lot of oxygen to survive. I ship all of my fish in breather bags. Guarantee with immediate (within 2 hours of USPS delivery) digital picture of dead fish - in the bag provides credit for the replacement of DOA fish. Guarantee does not include the cost of shipping.
