Formerly known as Mel. species �Dekai� or �The Golden Rainbowfish�. You are bidding on 8 F-1 fish from 3/4-~1 inch in size. We collected these fish in 2010 from the village of Dekai (West Papua, the island of New Guinea). DNA and meristics proved that this was a new species This is a relatively small rainbowfish, getting only to about a maximum of three inches. When the males are chasing the females they brighten up and are a real sight to behold. You can get an idea from the photos below. Oh, that guy in the middle of the pics � he helped to chop and remove a huge log loaded with orchids that had fallen over the road. Without his help we might not have gotten this fish! I think I want one of those bones for my nose! Like most rainbowfish they really enjoy a planted tank. Feed them a varied diet and change the water on a weekly basis and they will be very easy to keep and breed. If you�re tired of store bought crossed and washed out junk rainbowfish I have a better suggestion! Buy your rainbowfish from me. If you�re tired of seeing auctions that are just foisting the same Far East wholesaler, or worse, FLORIDA crap as their own, buy your rainbowfish from me. You get what you pay for� I raise and breed more species and location (river) variants of rainbowfish than anyone else in the United States. My rainbowfish are all raised by me and not imported from some offshore farm. My aquariums are carefully marked to ensure that similar species are not mixed up or crossed. So many rainbowfish look very similar when they are small so attention to detail is vital. You will see in my listings rainbowfish that have never been offered EVER in the United States. You�ll get prompt and courteous service and you�ll get some great fish that you�ll enjoy for years to come. When the auction ends on Saturday evening I would like to have an email by Sunday morning so I know whether a PayPal payment is coming shortly or whether we are waiting for a MO. Payment must be made within 5 days after the auction ends. If I am shipping on Monday morning your prizes need to have a good water change and go without food for 24 + hours so that they can be shipped to you in optimal shape. Without the 24 hour fast rainbowfish can easily get ammonia burn or worse. Express mail shipping is $36 or less for those that live closer. Priority mail $16. Save some shipping dollars by buying more than one auction. Rainbowfish really need to have a lot of oxygen to survive. I ship all of my fish in breather bags. I really recommend getting your rainbowfish via Express Mail instead of Priority. BUT THIS GROUP IS SMALL FISH and will probably survive the several day transit for Priority. Guarantee with immediate digital picture of dead fish - in the bag provides credit for the replacement of DOA fish. Guarantee does not include the cost of shipping.
