Description

Betta imbellis Pontian

Pseudomugil signifer is a small, colourful, endemic native fish species inhabiting freshwater streams and estuaries in coastal drainages along much of the east coast of Australia and offshore islands. They can tolerate brackish to fully marine conditions, being found in tidal mangrove creeks, estuaries and saltmarshes, and on several offshore islands, including Moreton Bay in south-east Queensland. They are frequently found in the waters of canal housing estate developments on the Gold Coast in south-east Queensland. Diadromous migration is not an essential requirement of the species. Rather, the species is characteristic of the estuarine-freshwater interface. They inhabit waters with a temperature range of 15~28C, and pH 5.5~8.3.

The best book I have ever read about rainbowfishes is Rainbowfishes ~ Their Care & Keeping in Captivity, Second Edition - 2011 by Adrian R. Tappin. The book is a comprehensive and illustrated guide to the remarkable rainbowfishes found in Australia and New Guinea. It is an indispensable reference manual for anyone interested in keeping rainbowfishes in captivity. The book provides a tremendous amount of information for anyone from beginner to experienced keeper on just about everything needed to keep and breed rainbowfishes successfully. Detailed easy to follow sections guide the reader through all aspects of their care and keeping in captivity. The information provided covers topics such as distribution, habitats, collecting, shipping, keeping and caring, how to successfully breed and raise rainbowfishes, foods and feeding, disease treatment and prevention, and much more. A comprehensive illustrated species section is also provided.

This book provides the rainbowfish keeper with proven, practical methods for the successful management and propagation of rainbowfishes to ensure they can maintain long-term self-sustainable populations. It is the authors' hope that this book will assist rainbowfish keepers in achieving this goal. No other publication currently exists that brings together all the methods and techniques for successfully keeping rainbowfishes in captivity.

The book combines the authors' years of experience with scientifically researched information from around the globe. This information together with excellent photographs of most of the known species of rainbowfishes from recognised hobbyists world-wide have contributed to make this a truly international rainbowfish reference book.

The book is available in print quality as a FREE download from the following link: http://peter.unmack.net/tappin/Rainbowfishes.2011.pdf (File Size: 198 MB). This is a MUST HAVE book for every rainbowfish keeper!

The eggs are posted in a tube filled with water enclosed in a plastic bag which is placed in a padded bubble envelope. Unfortunately I can't guarantee the hatching, hatch rate, sex ratio, etc. The storage conditions during transportation are out of my control. Please make sure before bidding that the temperature is not too cold at your area. Important: I don't refund money or re-send another pack of eggs if the package is lost in the post, seized by customs of your country, the eggs are dissolved in the water, fungussed, or you did something wrong and couldn't manage to hatch the fry. Please check the eggs on arrival! It's not my responsibility, you deal with mother nature! Please read appropriate literature, study various Internet sources dedicated to rainbowfishes before ordering the eggs. Apart from all other things I am a very busy person and I can not physically give instructions to everyone on how to hatch, keep and breed rainbows. Ordering eggs from me you completely agree with all my statements. All prices are listed in British Pounds (GBP). Delivery within the UK is 3.00 GBP, Europe and other countries - 8.00 GBP. Thanks for looking, happy bidding and enjoy your hobby!
