Description

This auction is for my entire breeding colony of Melanotaenia monticola (8 fish). Their size ranges from about 2.5" to 3". This is an ODDBALL rainbow species that is quite rare and very difficult to come by. In fact, I have been actively following rainbow auctions on AquaBid now for about 5 years and have only seen them on one occasion and made sure I did not miss getting my hands on them! This is now your chance to capitalize on this RARE opportunity to enjoy this eye-catching species of bow. Despite the fact that this species of bow lacks the striking features of some other species such as boesemani, it's penetrating yellow coloration gives it the appearance of gold with a stark contrasting black mid-lateral band. These fish love clean water and will thrive with big weekly water changes. They come from higher elevations and prefer cooler temperatures in the upper 60's to 70 degrees. The breeders exhibit daily spawning activity in the morning but I have not yet set them up in a spawning tank to collect eggs. My stock was acquired directly from Gary Lange. Pics and vid clips below are of the actual fish you will get. PAYMENT: Via PayPal within 24 hours of auction close. SHIPPING: Via USPS Express mail and cost will be based on destination location so please email me your zipcode for shipping estimate. Fish will ship in a nice 1/2" styro lined box with a large amount of fiberglass insulation for padding/insulation. Fish are bagged in Kordon breathers with AmmoLock and Bag Buddies tablets. Fish will be given a hefty clean water change the night before shipping and will be fasted for 36 to 48 hours pre-ship. Appropriate heatpacking included at no extra charge. LIVE ARRIVAL GUARANTY: Live arrival is guaranteed. I take great pride in the obsessive amount of attention I put into preparing/bagging/boxing all my fish but, in the event of DOA, please simply notify me via email within 3 hours of receiving fish and I will issue a pro-rated refund for DOA(s) based on auction close price - NO QUESTIONS ASKED! No refunds on shipping. If you have any questions, just ask as I am easy to talk to and aime to please. Thank you for looking at my auction and let my feedback be your guide!
