Tunes! Hello folks! Happy June!! I am going CAMPING again this weekend and you should too! This offering is for 2 Pr's of Apistogramma agassizii "reds" along with my last 8 Microdevario kubotai I have had stashed away here in the fish room. The Apisto's are ready to breed NOW. (That means the Males are blazing and the Females are a nice bright yellow color and filled up with eggs. I will also add one other species of something I think you may like to this box, IF and ONLY if, you allow me to ship in a timely manner. I would recommend you put all these fish together in a tank and also add 2 caves to the tank you place everything in. A 20 gallon long would work nicely for this. When you add the caves place them in a way that allows you to shine a flashlight into them that way when you think you have a spawn going on you can actually shine a light into the caves and actually see the eggs and fish inside. Then pull the whole cave out and you can raise a spawn separately in a separate tank. I like to get that first batch of fry growing up before I start messing around with letting the parents raise a batch of fry on their own. I'll bet you are thinking "couldn't I just put 1 Pr. in a tank by themselves and breed them?" Yes, you could try that but without dither fish around it's real easy to find your Male is all ready to rock and roll and your Female isn't quite ready yet and she gets beat to death within minutes cuz the Male isn't busy keeping those Microdevario kubotai away from his cave and the other Male Apisto away from his lady. I like to breed Apistos in a "busy" tank where the Pr. feel they have to work to guard their cave and spawning territory against intruders. I have almost no issues with Pr's fighting or eggs getting eaten when the Pr. doing the breeding aren't solely focused on each other cuz they are alone in a "breeding tank" and I think that will work best for you too. You will receive 2 Pr.s of these Apistos to try your luck with along with both sexes of the Microdevario's PLUS one other species if you cooperate on letting me ship in a timely manner. I'll also include some dry foods for everything and you should supply some frozen foods to keep things in spawning condition. Live blackworms or some live mosquito larva work well too but I realize everyone doesn't have access to all that stuff all the time.
