This week's auction is for a smaller panchax-type killifish that I've been working with. Aplocheilus Blockii is also known as the green panchax. This auction is for 6 unsexed, juveniles. The adults, both male and female, develop a green iridescence on their entire body. The males develop more elongated fins. They are a stunning fish. These are pretty new to me. I've had them about 6 months. I'm having success keeping them in a mixed sex group of 6 fish in a bare 5 gallon tank, set at 78 degrees with both floating and sinking yarn mops. They seem to prefer a dimly lit tank or areas of surface shadow or they otherwise startle easily. I'm hand picking eggs and water incubating them. They hatch in about 10 or 12 days. The fry are small. Really small. But once past a week or so, grow pretty steadily. I think the fry are eating the smallest of microworms, but I've been placing them in a tank full of hornwort or naja grass. So they are probably also grazing on micro fauna on the plant surface. As far as size and habits I would compare them to epiplatys dageti. The juveniles and adults will eat flake food, frozen food and live. I'll also include a microworm starter culture and at least 30 epiplatys dageti Monroviae eggs in peat. Shipping is $15(non-refundable) on top of the winning bid. It includes an insulated box and necessary heat packs to get the fish to you in excellent condition. I will ship these fish on Tuesday(5/8) following the close of the auction. Payment(via Paypal only)is expected by Sunday(5/6) at 12pm EST. Otherwise the fish will be relisted. I will contact the winning bidder shortly after the auction closes to make arrangements for payment and shipping. Thanks for looking.
