Description

This week I'm offering 2 pairs of easy mop spawners. A young adult pair of epiplatys dageti monroviae and a young adult pair of fundulopanchax gardneri misaje. Both are a great beginner fish if you've ever considered working with killifish. A 5 gallon tank or container is all that is needed to maintain and spawn each of these fish. No heater or filter. I maintain mine at approx 68 degrees. These fish should live 2-3 years. Both pairs of fish are feeding on high quality flake like Tetramin, Ken's earthworm flake, frozen brine shrimp and live blackworms. I place a few yarn spawning mops in the tank for cover. When you're ready to harvest eggs, hand pick the spawning mops and place the eggs in a margarine container with approx 1" of water from the parent tank. Store the eggs in a dark place like a closet or desk drawer. The dageti eggs hatch in about 10 days. The gardneri eggs hatch in about 20 days. The fry are easily fed on microworms, newly hatched brine shrimp and 5-55 micron golden pearls. The fry grow quickly and soon move on to larger foods. I'm also including a microworm starter culture with easy instructions on maintaining it as well as a bunch of soft hornwort. Both are excellent for successfully rearing the fry through the critical first few days. I ship Monday and Tuesday only. Shipping is $15 flat fee on top of the winning bid. That includes an insulated box with necessary heat packs so that the fish arrive in excellent condition. Shipping is non-refundable. Prompt payment is appreciated at the close of the auction so I can prepare the fish for shipment. Thanks for looking.
