Hello folks!
Happy October!
This offering is for a NICE Pair of young Blue Gularis my good friend Greg dropped off to me about a Month ago. I will also add a second species of interesting fish if you allow me to SHIP in a timely manner so keep reading!
The Male Gularis is just about 4 inches long the Female is around 2.5 inches. I was originally planning to offer them right away but I put this Pair in a bare 20 long and the Female obviously was not ready to breed but the Male didn't want to take "no" for an answer. Within 24 hours of getting them the Female was shredded up pretty badly. I texted Greg and told him about this incident and he didn't seem very surprised but he also asked me to keep them seperate and to simply feed and water change the Female regularly and she outta recover and fully heal in less than 3-4 weeks and be ready to photograph and sell soon enough. And that is exactly what I did.
Yesterday I took a nice close look at her and she looked AWESOME! Not only that she was fat and FULL of eggs! This morning I netted her up, placed her in a photography container and before I even returned from going upstairs to get a fresh cup of coffee she had sprayed at least 40 eggs right in the photography container!
And here's why I am telling you this long boring story.
If instead of netting her out to take photo's this morning I would have caught the Male and placed him in her tank this Pair would have immediately gone into spawning mode and all those eggs that got wasted (they didn't really get wasted, I fed them all to some young Apisto's cuz fish eggs are GREAT food for fish) would have gotten fertilized by this Male and unlike a Month ago he would have had no interest in beating up this Female.
Win this offering and I will send you this nice Young READY to work with Pr. of Blue Gularis PLUS a bag of cleaned and ready to use peat moss, a Magnifying Glass, a Microworm Culture, and even though I don't show it in the photo below I will also send you a big 100 strand mop for these Killies too.
You CAN spawn Gularis using either mops OR peat so I will include both.
Also these are NOT "Dwarf" Gularis. These are the REAL DEAL Fundulopanchax sjoestedti lots of folks refer to as "The KING of Killi's". They get BIG and I have had big Male Gularis actually bite me more than once!
I have been feeding both these fish Frozen Brine Shrimp along with Freeze Dried Plankton and I will send you some Freeze Dried Plankton in this box.
It's GREAT food for larger fish and this Female sure didn't take long to heal AND produce a belly full of eggs eating it daily!
Now if you scroll down you will also see some photo's of some Wild TYPE F1 Betta imbellis below. These are sometimes called "The Peaceful Betta" and Greg gave me some of those he bred as a gift last Month. They ARE peaceful towards each other and I have been housing them in a 20 long with oak leaves while raising them to a more sellable size. They are growing FAST and doing GREAT.
If you allow me to SHIP this offering in a timely manner I will send you 5 of them to try your luck breeding!
You will NOT be able to keep these smaller timid Betta's with the big Male Blue Gularis in this offering so it you do not have a separate tank handy just tell me that and I WILL send them to somebody else that wants to give them a try this week.
I see a decent amount of Dwarf Gularis in the hobby but the original wild strain of the LARGE growing Fundulopanchax sjoestedti is rarely available. Take this oppritunity to acquire a nice young Pair that will produce thousands of eggs for you over the next couple years!
Lastly, there are several very good videos on how to breed Fundulopanchax sjoestedti on Youtube, along with many articles on these fish. Folks that aquire a Pair tend to really get into them.. I highly recommend you check a couple out vid's and articles out! Keeping and breeding Fundulopanchax sjoestedti is quite addicting and a ton of fun. They are very hardy fish and as long as they don't jump out (KEEP THEM COVERED at ALL TIMES) very few things can go wrong with them and like I already discussed above if you have a Pr. and the Male gets abusive simply condition the Female for spawning separately and then reintroduce the Male to her tank and they will spawn for you within minutes of getting reintroduced!
Shipping is always FREE with my offerings AND I guarantee live arrival of all HEALTHY Fish!
