Hello folks!
Happy June!!
This offering is for a beautiful Breeding Pair of Neolamprologus leleupi along with 8 Young Neolamprologus brevis!
Conrad Jr's. been breeding these Leleupi in a 55 gallon tank and he now has so many youngsters he is ready to give up his Pr. and work on raising their fry.
Here's what he has to say regarding his experience with this Pair-
These are the light colored strain and if kept over light colored sand or gravel they will remain a nice bright yellow.
Do not expect to simply place this Pr. in an empty 30 gallon tank with a rock pile and start collecting fry a few weeks later like many of us do with N,. brichardi or any of the Julidochromis complex.
When Male Leleupi wish to spawn, even if the Female is still guarding fry, they can be quite nasty towards their mate and I believe this is why many hobbyists fail with this species.
Put this Pr. into a Tanganyikan community tank OR a tank with dither fish so the Male is not constantly focused on the Female and you will do well. They will happily raise fry in this sort of setting.
The other fish in the tank will moderate the males aggression towards the Female and will help strengthen the Pair bond during spawning (which will be often). Good tank mates are Julidochromis, fish of the Brichardi complex, Calvus and even shell dwellers like the Brevis I am including in this offering. But also keep in mind, these Leleupi are capable of making an easy meal out of Brevis fry so pull the shells if you think their are fry present in them and want to raise some Brevis in a separate rearing tank.
If you don't want to go that route good dither fish would be fish like larger Danio's, Rainbow Fish or for you big spenders something like a school of Roseline Sharks, Sahyadria denisoni would work well.
This Young Pr.of Leleupi has literally produced hundred of fry in my fish room and now it's time to focus on raising them up so Pete and I have some fish to offer going into the Winter. If you have half the luck I have had with them you will be looking for tank space soon enough too.
Thanks Conrad, I always appreciate you comments.
Too sum up- You are bidding on the Breeding Pr. of Neolamprologus leleupi you can see in the moving picture above and the photo's below along with 8 Young 1 inch long Neolamprologus brevis.
I will also send you a good amount of high quality foods, you have to supply your own rock pile and shells!
Shipping is FREE with all my offerings and I guarantee live arrival of HEALTHY fish that look like they do in my photos!
