These are some of my ADULT Red Claw Shrimp also sometimes called Long Arm Shrimp and their actual scientific name is Macrobrachium assamensis. These Adults are NOT what you are bidding on, I am just showing them off here. �������� Hello folks! Happy Winter we are half way through it now! This is a species I have now kept twice in my life. The first time I kept them I ended up selling my breeding group cuz some nut case made me an offer I just couldn't say no to. A few years went by and I was lucky enough to find a lone Female with eggs at one of my local fish club auctions and I have been messing with them again for the last few years. These are quite a bit different than the Dwarf Shrimps we see in the hobby and I actually enjoy them more. For example, my big breeder Male will take food right out of my hands and he's easily 6 inches long. When he see's me walking past the tank he comes out to see what is going on too! He also puts up with some other Males in his tank but ends up killing others. He's nice and gentle with all his Females though. And that's what makes these shrimp different than dwarf Shrimps. Most folks don't even know what their dwarf shrimp's sexes even are. I can see my dominant Male Red Claw Shrimp from across my fish room and he see's me too. Anyway folks, these are another one of those species I think everyone outta mess with at least once. And this is your chance to get some from me. Win this offering and I will send you 8 Young Red Claw Shrimp that were fathered by that Male Shrimp I was spouting off about. The Young Shrimp I will send you will be about 1 1/2 inches long and you will receive both sexes. That's about 3 times larger than adult Cherry Shrimp and they are still just youngsters. I will also send you some Subwassertang cuz I have kept these Shrimp in a tank with Subwassertang in it for their entire lives and they seem to do well with it. Plus Subwassertang is a cool plant and half the time I send some to folks I think they throw it away thinking it's fake and made out of shredded plastic. Like many of my offerings, I can also send you some fish that WILL do just fine in a tank with these Shrimp and I WILL if you allow me to ship in a timely manner. I have a whole bunch of egglayers I spawned over the holiday break that are now up to size and ready to rock! I have read these Shrimp can catch and eat fish but the ONLY fish I have had issues keeping in with them are Fancy Guppies and even then they usually only beat up the Males. I guess my Red Clawed Shrimp didn't read they are bad with fish on an Internet site! One good reason for NOT keeping fish in with them is the shrimpettes are born SMALL. They are as tiny as Cherry Shrimp babies so fish can actually eat all your baby Red Claw Shrimps after their mother releases them. They also seem to hide more than dwarf Shrimp when they are newborn so you may not see them while any fish are eating them up. Keep that in mind if you are looking to raise a couple batches of these shrimp. Try these Shrimp out folks! If you end up enjoying them half as much as I do you will be happy you did! And who knows? Dang it, all that yapping I did and I forgot to say you can NOT keep these Shrimp with any snails you may be into that you do NOT want to get eaten. These Shrimp will EAT snails!
