Hello folks! Happy first Friday of May! What do you think of this guitar player?This offering is for a sexed Pair of wild caught Adult African Butterfly Fish along with a Trio of Red Sunset Sailfin Mollies I have had in their tank to clean up foods that fall to the bottom of the tank. These Mollies are HEALTHY and if you have had bad luck with Mollies in the past these WILL live for you. I took some close up photos of these Butterfly Fish today to show you how to sex them. Males have a notched anal fin and Females don't. It's that simple! For unknown reasons I have never attempted to breed these unique fish but I am also going to provide you with a link on how to breed them if you want to give it a try You can check out that link HERE. If you decide to put these Butterfly Fish in their own tank in an attempt to breed them keep in mind they will NOT feed off the bottom. You either have to add some other organism like catfish (I used these Mollies) or even snails will work but once any food drops down to the lower reaches of the tank these Butterfly Fish will NOT swim down to the bottom to find it. I have been feeding them Freeze Dried Plankton and I will send you some of it so you have a good high protein floating food for them. I will also tell you about a little trick you can use to get frozen Bloodworms to float for quite a while. Defrost them in HOT water instead of cold and you will find the large majority of now thawed out bloodworms float! That's a good trick to know so don't forget about it! I also have this Pair of Butterfly Fish eating Tetramin Flake food well too so these fish WILL eat that for you too! I do not know if they will accept all brands of flake food.
