Description

Multi Starter Colony - 8 Multies!
Adult pair plus 6 younger Lamprologus Multifasciatus

Im calling this a colony starter. I will pick you out a nice large male, a plump female, and 6 juveniles that already have their stripes. And I will send you 4 shells. Instant colony! Just add water. And sand if you want to see them constantly making a new landscape. Its awesome!

Ive found these guys to be skittish shell darters until they get comfortable and used to a tank. If you really want to see them being bold, let their numbers grow and grow. I have an obscene amount in a 40 gallon breeder and they routinely go right up to the top of the bare tank looking for food. I also have let a good crop of fluffy algae grow on the shells to give the tiny babies a constant food source to browse. I give them large weekly water changes and the colony just keeps growing. Always new babies popping up. I feed them a mix of flakes/food from kensfish and live brine shrimp of all sizes (dont throw out that BBS water, pour it - minus the shells - into a container with an air stone, a light, and lightly dust with spirulina powder. Youll be amazed at what is left in that hatching water! If you replace half the water weekly and keep it hazy green with spirulina, you have your own brine shrimp colony. My fish LOVE it!

I keep these guys in my tap water of 7.8 pH and 160 TDS. I know they like it harder and more alkaline, but I hate messing with my water parameters. And by the overpopulation I have, I don't think they mind it too much :)

So, yeah, 8 multis (2 adults and 6 youngins)! And a few shells.
