Description

Please check your extended forecast and consider the weather before bidding.

Be sure to read the general info on shipping.

I always respond to questions and wins within 12 hours, if you haven't heard from me CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER!

We are running out of Spring! Soon temperatures will be heating up and the USPS will be slowing down. If you are thinking about buying aquatics, whether it's from me or someone else, don't wait until the sweltering heat of July. Heat is the enemy of aquatics being shipped!

Please read entire auction and updated Just Me before bidding.

Shipping to contiguous 48 states only, (CONUS, not AK, HI, or PR).

Tips for a Successful Transaction

Read all the information the seller provides so you can make a smart decision. Sometimes there cannot be a TL;DR.

If you still have questions after reading everything, or have any special requests, ask before bidding. What you want may not be possible.

Check your email, including spam. It's our only means of contacting you.

Read the entire email, the last sentence may be a question. Not replying can delay shipment.

If you are having trouble receiving emails, you can see messages sent to you through the AquaBid messaging system by going HERE and entering your Username and Password.

Make sure the email and physical addresses on file with AquaBid and PayPal are up to date and correct.

Check your 10 day weather forecast. Most problems are caused by temperature extremes, both hot and cold.

The seller cannot make the package arrive on a certain day. Priority Mail doesn't have a guaranteed delivery date, it usually takes 2 or 3 days to arrive but may take longer.

Build your own Assortment!

Very simple, choose ANY 4 from the list below.

  • 6 Red Cherry Shrimp Juveniles
  • 1 Red Cherry Shrimp Berried Female
  • 5 Ramshorns
  • 5 Baby Mysteries
  • 1 Small Mystery Clutch (if available)
  • 8 Malaysian Trumpet Snails
  • 4 Tropical Hornwort Stems.
  • 6 Narrow Leaf Anacharis stems
  • Small starter portion Subwassertang
  • Bolbitis heudelotti 'Small Form' one small rhizome
  • 2 Small clumps Needle Leaf Java Fern
You may choose some groups more than once, see the individual descriptions below. Want more than 4 choices? Sure, add more for $4.50 each, depending on what you choose it may change shipping. If you want a lot of something just email and I will do my best to put a package together for you.

Juvenile Red Cherry Shrimp, 1/4" " to 1/2". These are the easiest of all dwarf fresh water shrimp and thrive in a wide range of parameters as long as the water is reasonably clean. Each group is 6 shrimp and you may choose this group up to 2 times.

Berried Female RCS, young female carrying developing eggs (pregnant). The eggs hatch into perfect miniatures of the parents and need no special care. Each group is one berried female and you may choose this group once.

Ramshorns are probably the best all purpose snails. They are VERY easy to keep and breed, come in attractive colors and aren't as invasive as pond snails. They'll be roughly pea sized, mix and match colors. Top to bottom: Blue (sorry not available), Red (very limited quantities) , Pink, Purple, Leopard or get all the same color if you prefer. If the juveniles and adults look significantly different I have shown both with adults on the right. Each group is 5 snails and you may choose this group up to 2 times.

Malaysian Trumpet snails, these are indispensable for preventing compaction in the substrate. You don't see them much in the daytime as they burrow underground but they come out at night to do janitorial duty. They are parthenocarpic and adults pop out a live baby every now and then. Population matches the food supply, in other words, if they are breeding out of control, you are probably doing some serious overfeeding, MTS are way better than extra food rotting though... Each group is 8 snails and you may choose this group once.

Tropical Hornwort is an easy floating plant which grows quickly. Each group is 4 stems and you may choose this group up to 2 times.

Narrow-leaf anacharis (Elodea najas) is an easy floating plant which grows quickly. It requires medium lighting, it's not a low light plant. Each group is 6 stems and you may choose this group once.

Subwassertang is an easy plant that looks like seaweed, use the same way as moss. Each group is as shown below and you may choose this group up to 2 times.

Bolbitis heudelotti 'Small Form' is a VERY small plant. Shown is a mature clump on Mopani, it's less than 6" across. You will receive one small rhizome with three or four 2" leaves and you may chose this group once.

Needle Leaf Java Fern has the same super easy care as regular Java Fern, just with much more narrow leaves. Once established is has a grassy look to it. Didn't take photos yet but you can get an idea of what it looks like from Google. Each group is 2 small plants, each with several leaves and you may choose this group once.

You can read about caring for Red Cherry Shrimp at Planet Inverts and I will supply my own care info for the Ramshorns and Mysteries.

Including shipping, this is less than half the cost of buying everything separately.

If you can think of something else you want to substitute, and I am sure someone will, ask before bidding. If you bid and win then start trying to negotiate something other than what is listed above... the answer will be no. As always I am happy to add additional aquatics to your purchase or combine shipping with another auction.

If you skipped reading the beginning of the auction:
YOU GET TO PICK 4 GROUPS of what is listed above.

Questions? Click for email.

Term details are on my Just Me page which was updated August 24, 2014. Read it before bidding.

Payment is through PayPal only (you do not need an account, just a credit card), no e-checks. When paying with PayPal, you must use a shipping address, my account is configured to only accept PayPal Confirmed Addresses and I only ship to the address given in PayPal.

Priority Mail shipping is just postage for 2 pounds from 01888, $5.32 to $9.97 depending on zipcode. You can check that cost yourself at usps.com, it will be much faster than asking me for a quote, use the online price (Regional Rate Box A), not the post office price. I ship to PO Boxes if it's Confirmed Address.

The shrimp will be in a generous amount of water with an ammonia absorbing material and in a breather bag, everything else will be packed appropriately. The box will be insulated with styrofoam. I am not offering a heatpack/coldpack. No shipping to locations with lows below freezing or highs above 85F.

Local pickup can be arranged at 462 Washington St Woburn MA 01801, weekdays, late afternoon.

Shipping will be delayed if extreme weather may endanger the animals, ...it's a hobby not an organ transplant!

LAG for stated quantities for 3 days if >30F and <85F. Any extras are not covered by LAG.

Some of my other auctions may be combined with this for savings on shipping costs.

Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK!
