Hello folks!
Happy Thursday!
Today I am posting these auctions on a computer right inside my fish room and I will be near it all day long so I will be actually reading/answering E Mails so send me any music requests and I might even see them for a change.
This week I have some GOOD loaches to sell and I got some of them cuz you CAN breed certain ones outside in the Spring-Summer so pay attention to what I am offering if you want to give this a try!
The type of loaches folks frequently breed outside are the Weather Loaches, Misgurnus anguillicaudatus. I personally know 3 hobbyists here in the North East who have repeatedly got these loaches to spawn outside in both tubs and ponds. Two of them are even a fellow AquaBid members. These Gold Weather Loaches will even live under ice for short periods of time! They become extremely friends and will take food from your hands. They also live for DECADES and are VERY hardy.
I also know how to sex them and you will too if you keep reading and look at my first photo below carefully.
See that first photo? Notice their ventral fins. Males come to a point and are easily twice as large. It's THAT EASY and now you know how to sex weather loaches! You can even sex them without looking down at them cuz in a tank the Males will prop the front of their bodies up ad perch on those fins and Females don't do that.
I am offering the GOLD form of these fish cuz I LIKE them better than the brown wild type colored ones. As usual I am NOT going to only offer 1 type of loach in this auction and it also comes with Vietnamese Hillstream Loaches too.
You CAN also breed those but I am not going to go into how you do that other than to say the most important thing is to have them in a tank where other fish will not eat their babies before you even realize they are breeding in the tank.
