Hello Folks! Happy Friday! This is the PERFECT auction for anyone wanting to try breeding some NICE wild caught Whiptail Catfish and also raise up some nice Pr's. of German Blue Rams at the same time! Win this auction and I will send you 6 5-6 inch long Whiptail catfish, Rineloricaria parva PLUS 8 1 inch long YOUNG German Blue Rams that are JUST STARTING to develop adult colors! You can see all these fish below. These Whiptails like to breed in narrow caves or you can use PVC pipes. I found a NICE article on Scotcat written by Helen Burns describing how she bred these awesome catfish. Here is the link to it and MAKE SURE you check it out, spawning accounts written by actual hobbyists are worth there weight in gold compared to just reading about how to spawn them second hand by somebody just repeating information that may or may not actually be correct. Helen's breeding article The Germen Blue Rams I am going to send you are about 12 weeks old and were born in my fish room. They were from TOP QUALITY adult Germen Blue Rams that were bred in my hard, alkaline Great Lakes tap water so YOU should also have no issues breeding them without having to deal with softening your water OR messing with your PH. They are doing GREAT and if you take a close look at the moving picture you can even see the rock still in the breeding box their eggs hatched on. These Whiptail cats are omnivores and will eat meaty foods along with vegetable matter. Do NOT assume thy will eat algae and other "leftovers" and make sure you actually feed THEM well and they will reward you by BREEDING for you! I try to get these wild caught Rineloricaria parva at least once or twice a year because I like them and they are a great whiptail to try first before moving on to the more expensive, harder to keep varieties. If you have successfully bred Ancistrus you will most likely also be able to successfully breed these guys!
