Hello Folks! Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone! This offering is for 6 NICE L-129's along with a breeding Pr. of German Blue Rams. I have had ALL these fish about 2 Months now and they are ALL doing GREAT. I will mention right off the bat that if you want to breed these Rams you will NOT be able to do it in the same tank as these Plecos. The Plecos WILL eat the Ram eggs the first night after they lay them for sure. This is a GREAT strain of German Blue Rams and they are the SAME strain I have been offering at AquaBid.com off and on for quite a few years now. I get them ALL from the same source and they are always awesome. The last group I got arrived to my house on a Friday and by Sunday night I already had them Pairing off and cleaning stones. If every breeder sent me fish like these life would be good! The Pleco's were wild caught and they are also NICE, CLEAN, well fed, HEALTHY active fish. This species tends to come out and eat and stay out in the open more than most Hypancistrus do to. There's 6 of them and I am selling them as unsexed although I do think there are 3 Pr's. I was actually going to sell them as sexed Pr's one Pair at a time but today when I took them out to photograph them the first thing I noticed was the largest fish that I spent the last 2 Months thinking was a Female ended up being a Male so I took a close look at the smaller fish and after a few minutes I decided they were too young for me to sex BUT looking down at them there are 3 pointy headed fish and 3 round headed fish so that's why I think they are 3 Pr's. but that's JUST a guess so there are no guarantees. I have been hatching and raising some of these Blue Ram spawns even though I have zero tank space, cuz I wanted to show you folks one way of messing with these Rams and I took a few moving pictures of what I have going on. The moving pictures should be pretty self explanatory and I don't have time to write a book on this BUT in a nutshell here's what I have been doing. I wait about 1/2 hour after the Females lay their last egg, remove the entire stone from their tank and place it in a breeder box filled with CLEAN, FRESH, dechlorinated tap water and then add 5 drops of methylene blue to keep fungus off the eggs, I also run the airline to the breeder box directly into the box to aerate the water, I then wait about 3 days for the eggs to hatch. As soon as they hatch I start doing 20% water changes each day to remove the dye from the water. I simply drain and discard the blue water and refill the 20% I took out with water from the tank the breeder box is hanging on. As soon as they start free swimming (about another 3 days) I put a wad of filter floss over the gate, fire the breeder box back up, add snails to it and I feed them "sponge filter juice" along with infusoria I make using dead leaves along with 25 micron Golden Pearls for the first 3 or 4 days they are free swimming, then I switch them over to decapped eggs and LBBS. In my opinion the secret to a rookie not messing the spawn up is to fire the breeder box back up BEFORE you start offering the fry food cuz they are ONLY IN a little less than a half gallon of water which is a good thing UNLESS you feed them too much OR some foods they are still to small to eat. That's how I think beginners sometimes lose spawns and if you try raising them this way that won't happen. OK that wasn't exactly a book but it's more than I planned on saying. I realize some of you folks think I talk to much already most likely because I do. One other thing though, BEFORE you add small stones to your breeding tank make sure they will actually FIT into the breeder box otherwise you will have a hundred Ram eggs stuck to a rock that won't fit into your nursery! I'll tell you what, I will send you 3 NICE pieces of petrified wood that WILL fit into a breeder box with this auction. Hows that? To sum up- This auction is for 6 L-129's mostly around 2-3 inches with one bigger Male at almost 4", a breeding Pr. of German Blue Rams, FOOD for both types of fish, food for Ram fry, a few small pieces of petrified wood, along with a couple other items I think would come in handy for any up and coming fish breeder to have. This auction does NOT come with an actual breeding box but you can get them here- Breeding Boxes Shipping is FREE and I Guarantee live arrival of ALL nice fish!
