Description

Hello Folks!
Happy Thursday!
I have enough Snails, Shrimp and Fish to run this one more time! This week I'll even remember to use ALL the photo's I took last week when I put the auction together.
Oh goody, I just learned I can make my moving pictures even bigger if I tweak the settings over on Youtube!
This is sort of an unplanned offering. I went down into the fish room to gather up a bunch of NICE Adult Gold Tux Swordtails for an auction I have been planning on running and when I went into the tank I have a nice Male Gold tux Sailfin Sword in I flipped over this piece of driftwood and realized I have WAY to many assassin snails in this tank.
You know why I have too many assassin snails in this tank? Cuz I also have "Super Red" Ancistrus and Longfin "Super Red" Ancistrus in this tank and they are just about at that age were the Males will start caving up and breeding but those Assassin snails will be an issue cuz I have so many of them they will get into those caves and eat any eggs those Ancistrus start laying. So, now I am going to offer up some Assassin Snails in this auction.
But first let me tell you a couple things about them. I have found them to be VERY easy to breed IF I provide them with 2 things. A good amount of MEATY foods and it does NOT have to be other snails, and wood. For "unknown reasons" I can not get them to lay eggs in tanks that don't contain wood. I noticed this the first couple of Months after first getting them. They also don't seem to breed if I don't purposely make sure they are getting a good diet which is usually Earthworm Sticks, Mix #2, Kens Catfish Sticks, and anything meaty actually seems to do the trick.
I WILL send you some "meaty" foods with this auction.
They also need wood to breed. This was also something I sort of learned through trial and error. I got off to a slow start with these snails cuz everything I read about them kept saying the trick was they needed other snails to eat to trigger breeding. That ended up being totally false so forget about that and just do what I recommend.
Hey?
I started off with about 6 of these snails and I have sold at least 200 and I bet I have 400 in my tanks right now so who you going to believe? Some author writing an article for TFH Magazine or some nutcase like me who bought 6 of them and now have so many of them I gotta run auctions for them just so my Ancistrus eggs don't get eaten?
This auction is for a dozen of them and I will send you nice BIG adults.
Also since I will be digging them out of this tank I will also catch you 12 of the Sakura Shrimp I also have crawling all around this tank.
There's a lot of those too and I will try to catch you a couple berried females.
And that brings me to another fallacy I read about fairly often. I bet I have at least 30-40 medium to large Swordtails in this tank yet cuz I have lots of floating plants and some wood and caves in this bare bottom tank I STILL can keep and breed Sakura Shrimp in this tank and all those Swordtails do NOT eat all my shrimp. You can see the actual tank in the photo below the moving picture. That's a lot Swordtails don't you think? In fact I can actually SEE the Male Male Gold tux Sailfin Sword I was looking for in that photo. He's up in the right hand corner by himself. See him?
I guess he gets to spend at least one more week with me cuz it's already after 11 PM and I am not going to end up posting that Gold tux Swordtail auction this week cuz I will be hitting the sack soon.
So, to get to the meat and potatoes part of this auction-
Win this auction and I will send you 12 NICE Large Adult Assassin Snails, 12 Nice sized Sakura Shrimp AND I will include any Berried Females I can find, PLUS I will send you about 1/3 of the floating plants you can see in the tank photo below. If you don't have any pest snails and you would like to actually watch these Assassins in action attacking and eating other snails I will even include about 30 of those too if you ask me for them.
Don't worry about those pest snails getting out of control on you, these Assassin Snails REALLY do work and there is no way the pest snails will survive very long in the same tank as 12 Adult Assassins.
Lastly, and this is the best part of all, I have a whole breeder box full of Young Swordtails that were dropped out of a NICE Female Hifin Gold Tux Sword I mated to a Male Orange Blossom and you can see them by watching the moving picture at the bottom of this auction. There's Gold tux, RREA's, Orange Blossoms, White Albino's, Red wags and Red Tux in the mix and I will send you 12 of them.
About half will grow up to be Hifins too and they all will carry the Albino gene from the Male Orange Blossom so you outta be good to go once you raise them up to breeding size!
Thanks for viewing my auctions folks. I really do enjoy this job!
