Description

Hello Folks!
This is more like an Auction/Blog. It took me over an HOUR to make this auction/blog so don't expect to see many of these. I hate typing!
Believe it or not I never really got in to keeping crayfish up until the last couple years. I don't really know why, maybe cuz there were so few of them available in the hobby and I just wasn't into keeping the bright red and Blue ones that much. Anyway a couple years when those self cloners were just starting to become available I won a self cloning crayfish at a local auction for about 10 bucks and I have been screwing around with them ever since. Not just the self cloners either but that's what this auction is for so I am going to just talk about those here. The BEST way I have found to breed these things is to keep the breeders in a "main tank" with caves, wood and LOTS of plastic plants. They EAT ALL live plants I try to keep in with them so unless I have extra stuff I don't want to ship out I add duckweed as food to their tanks, they like it and I almost always have lots of it, so it actually keeps these crayfish well fed and I do not have to pay for it! If I only had a couple of them I would just keep them in with some fish, as a rule they very seldom mess with any fish OTHER than Male fancy guppies. They DO seem to nip up the tails of Male fancy Guppies so I do NOT keep them in with them. Anyway here is the type of tank I keep the breeders/young crayfish in-

Notice they are all eating canned green beans in those photo's? They LOVE those things and I also feed them a lot of Earthworm sticks and "Vegetable sticks with calcium" I buy from Kensfish.com. What I do to breed them is I just keep an eye out for berried females and when I see one I catch her and put her in either a small tub or a 5 gallon bucket with at least an air stone in it. If I am using a 5 gallon bucket (I tend to use those with the larger females cuz they can have over 100 baby's at a time) I add a sponge filter to it. I also add a cave AND plastic plants of some type just to make the female feel relaxed and secure. Then I simply feed her well and wait for her to have all her babies. After that I return her to the main tank I keep all the adults in and raise the fry right in the tub or bucket. This is a set up I use for smaller females.

And this is one I use for LARGE females. Notice all the 1 inch crayfish at the bottom of that bucket? They are ALL living peacefully in there BECAUSE I jam it full of plastic plants and keep them well fed although they do all need to be put in a tank VERY soon. Also you HAVE to use a nice sized sponge filter to keep that many baby crayfish this way. There is just about 100 in that bucket. Really! Count them up in the bottom photo!

I lightly feed all these baby crayfish about twice a day and I change the water in the tub and bucket about twice a week. It takes about 1 minute to change their water cuz I pull ALL the plastic plants out and then pore all the water and baby crayfish into a large 12 inch net, spill out ALL the old water add new CLEAN chlorinated tap water to the tub and bucket and then I simply put everything including the crayfish back in and I am done!
Now that you are done reading my Self cloning Crayfish auction/blog you are bidding on 8 one inch Self Cloning crayfish plus 3 Pr's. of Japanese Blue Swordtail Guppies that will do ABSOLUTELY fine in with your new baby self cloners!
I will include some HIGH QUALITY FOODS for all this stuff.
Oh, and by the way, local pet shops WILL buy these crayfish from you once you tell them what they are all about. The going rate they sell them for around here is 5.99 although I talked with another hobbyist from Missouri this week and he said they sold for 7.99 in that area.

Folks, I don't mess around. I sell nice stuff. I start all these auctions at a dollar and I offer free shipping and an unconditional guarantee. Trust ol' Lotsoffish.

I ship 3-4 days a week. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I also FEARLESSLY ship into ALL temperatures. I'll get your fish to you alive folks. It's my specialty! I can usually ship the next available shipping day after you cough up the loot, and as always, I don't mess around.
