Description

Hello folks!
I think I might just admit, defeat post a couple more auctions, and hightail it down to the cabin for the weekend. I wanted to get a whole bunch of auctions posted but it just doesn't seem to be happening this week. I am supposed to have a bunch of empty tanks right now but I can't even seem to get my buckets empty lately.
I used this live Stones tune in a few of my food auctions a couple weeks a go and I received 9 E Mails from you folks commenting about how totally awesome it is so I am going to start using it a little more often. If you have never seen the Stones live they always tour with a sax player and jam like this, most folks that haven't seen them live just don't realize how awesome they can be and when I say live I don't mean some lame 15 minute medley during the half time show at the Superbowl either. Anyways, I don't get 9 positive E Mails on tunes very often so I just thought I outta bring it up.
This auction is for 4 Laetacara thayeri.
These are a pretty rare South American cichlid that are closely related to Curviceps cichlids. They get about 5 inches long but they are pretty gentle fish actually. I got these fish in a trade a while back and I have put roughly an inch on them. Right now they are about 3-3 1/2 inches long. I am also pretty sure I have either 2 Pr's or 3 Males and a female. If I had to bet on it I would guess I have 2 Pr's. These fish just started to develop color and they are actually just now starting to act like mature adults. I would guess they will breed for you within 1 Month of receiving them.
I have never bred these fish and I found some information on them that said they have not been bred in captivity yet but then I checked YouTube and actually found some moving pictures of a Pr swimming around a tank with a school of fry so they have now been spawned in captivity. These are the type of cichlids you can easily keep with other fish in a medium sized community tank as long as they can't swallow them whole so I am also going to send you some VERY NICE Black Spotted Green Swordtails I have here in the fish room. These are REALLY nice Swordtails and they breed 100% true and all their fry will also have that heavy black spotting on them.
I will send you 5 of these swordtails and you WILL get both sexes.
If you win this auction make sure you keep these Swordtails with these cichlids because once those Laetacara thayeri spawn you are going to want them to have something they can chase around and keep an eye on otherwise they will become too focused on each other and the eggs and that's how fish end up freaking out and eating their own spawns.
I am also going to reach in to that planted tank you can see below and grab a nice big handful of hornwort out of the right side of that tank and send that to you too.
That will give the Swordtails some escape routes to get away from these cichlids once they breed PLUS give any Green swordtails fry a place to hide AND it will also give you a nice colony of infusoria your baby cichlids will eat the first 48-72 hours after they become free swimming.
I TOLD you this tune cranks. Was I right or was I right?
I am right about why you want all this stuff if you plan on giving these cichlids a whirl too so place a bid.
I will also include some freeze dried earthworms for these Laetacara thayeri plus some good foods for the swordtails too plus I might even toss a few large Chinese trapdoor snails in the box too.
I gotta do something cool, have you noticed all the folks at AquaBid copying my style and auctions around here? I mean geesh, I was looking at one auction today and the guy was offering to include his own "hardwood leaves" in his box. Doesn't anyone ever come up with anything on their own here once in a while?
Have a nice weekend everyone and try to get outside and enjoy some good weather this weekend. God knows the entire Countries had a pretty lousy Spring so lets hope Summer gets and stays nice now that it's almost here.
