Description

Hello folks!
I bet you can't guess what that container with the hole cut in it and the coconut fiber inside it is for, check out my auctions later on today to find that out
I want to show you something I think is REALLY COOL, but first crank up this Country tune cuz I think it's pretty COOL too and if I was burning a bunch of CD's right now I would definitely be putting this one on them.
The cool thing I want to show you is I have this trio of Pseudomugil gertrudae also called Gertrude's Rainbow by normal folks who don't speak Latin fooled in to thinking they are in this awesome mountain stream somewhere in northern Australia when in reality I have been keeping them in one of my catch containers the past week or so.
Check these 3 fish out below.

I put them in that container for a few different reasons. 1. Cuz I wanted to collect a couple dozen eggs from them cuz I want to raise that many up so I will be able to run 3 auctions with about 8 of them in each auction in a couple Months from now and I just love spawning fish in ways nobody actually thinks is possible.
My number 2 reason for doing this is I wanted to try to actually get some nice video footage of one of these Males displaying so you folks at home can get a good idea regarding how truly remarkable these little fish really are.
Plus the 3rd reason I decided to do this now is because between Christmas and New Years and now Martin Luther King Day I have lost so many shipping days I am getting BORED out of my mind here so I needed to find some stuff to focus on so I don't crack up during these long cold Winter weeks. Anyway, all those ideas worked wonderfully except the not cracking up part but 2 out of 3 ain't bad so here's the remarkable footage I got with this Male REALLY pumped up trying to persuade these 2 females to spawn with him-

Think I outta try to add a few trumpet snails and a small school of Pygmy Cory's to that catch container and sell it as a complete set up? To give you a better idea of just how simple this thing really is here is another photo of the set up from a few feet away-

And this was what things looked like a little over a week a go. I had caught those 3 fish from the main holding tank and separated them so I could condition both sexes with live white worms for 3 or 4 days before putting them together.

Folks, I am showing you all this insanity because I want YOU to know that you do NOT have to spend a lot of money to expand on your hobby. Every single "expert breeder" I know, does this same type of crap I am always doing in my fish room. And you can too. And the real BONUS to learning how to do this sort of stuff is you DO NOT have to keep running to the local pet store or Pay paling a place like "Big Al's" a whole bunch of money every time you breed something or want to try something new.
Check this crap out-

That's my "right in the middle of the damn isle" temporary breeding section. LOL! I bet you think I must be NUTS to think I could possibly breed anything of value with 3 or 4 buckets siting on some other buckets I used as "stands" with some straight airlines flowing in to them. Hell, that set up is so temporary I don't even have airstones connected to those airlines. I wrap those old lead plant weights around those air lines to keep them from falling out of those buckets BUT in the last 4 weeks since Thanksgiving actually I have moved so many fry through those buckets starting with eggs and ending up as recognizable fry it would make your head spin. The truth is while I do enjoy messing around with these livebearers like I have been doing I actually think it's more rewarding breeding egg layers. Hell, a lot of these egg layers I like to mess with are SO TINY I honestly can't even see them when they are first free swimming. My eye site just isn't what it used to be and I tend to ask my brother or guests in my fish room if they "see anything" in this water or that container etc. LOL! But sure enough, the answer is yes more often than no.
I suppose I outta wrap this up by telling you what you are actually bidding on in this auction BUT FIRST I am just going to tell you one more time, whether you use old Cool Whip containers, margarine tubs, plastic sweater boxes, hell, Ol' Conrad likes to use used pretzel rod containers, you can do A LOT of messing around with your hobby with out spending a fortune on equipment because in my opinion what you really outta be spending your hard earned bucks on is FISH and LIVESTOCK because THAT'S the stuff that makes this hobby so interesting in the first place.

And don't forget, if you run out of floor space you could always hang a couple tanks from your ceiling.

This auction is for 8 Gertrude's rainbows just like the three you got to look at in my catch container above. I am also going to send you a spawning mop so you can collect your own eggs and hatch them in any old chip dip container you may have laying around your kitchen and if you don't have a chip dip container to hatch your eggs in I am not closing this auction until Weds. so you have plenty of time to run out and buy a bag-o-chips and some dip and polish off the dip before you start picking eggs!
That's all Folks! LOL!

Folks, I don't mess around. I sell nice stuff. I start all these auctions at a dollar and I offer free shipping and an unconditional guarantee. Trust ol' Lotsoffish.

I ship 4 days a week. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. I can usually ship the next available shipping day after you cough up the loot, and as always, I don't mess around.
