Description

Poecilia velifera, Yucatan Peninsula, the Giant Sailfin Molly � 6 unsexed 2-4 month old fish. Occasional males will exceed 5 inches. These fish require a larger tank with good filtration, 2+ multiple daily feedings and slightly harder water with a pH of 7.8-8.4. Crushed coral or oyster shell works well to bring up pH and hardness. Much information on keeping and breeding this fish is posted at selectaquatics.com, linked from the home page. This is the original, pure, wild population. Adult males showing off definitely take your breath away! These do not require salt, and with frequent daily feedings of a primarily vegetable based dry food and good water quality are hardy and prolific. 2 extras are sent with every order of 6 to cover any that may be lost in shipment, while improvements in shipping have brought losses down to less than 1%. Styrofoam box shipment for a single order within the continental U.S. is $50 for overnight Express Mail delivery. Heat pack, if needed is $3. Fish are shipped when your temperatures are between 35-90 degrees. Shipping �Hold For Pickup� nearly assures live delivery when temps are at upper or lower extremes.
