Up for auction are 5 unsexed juvenile Poecilia latipinna "Dauphin Island". They are about 3/8 to half an inch long (approximately). Possibly larger if available. More may be available at auction closing price (no additional shipping!) at the seller's discretion and depending on availability.
This population originally hails from the area around Dauphin Island in Mobile Alabama. Due to the fact that they are a more northerly population, they are also more resistant to lower temperatures. The males below aren't fully grown but one can already tell their robust build and the eventual big sailfin. As can be seen in the second picture the males get a very nice deep orange covering the front part of their bodies during courtship. Beautiful animals! These are mostly F2 animals from a population that's been living in pure freshwater for a few generations. They are very easy to breed and do not eat their babies, even if there is little to no cover.
