Hello folks! Happy July! This offering is for another sexed PAIR of Belonesox belizanus! The Male is about 3 1/2 inches long and the Female is about 5 inches long! I have had these awesome Wild Livebearers in the fish room for about 5 weeks now. Last week I offered the first Pr. and they seemed to go over pretty well so this week I am offering the second Pr. Hey you gotta make hay when the sun shines right? If you have never seen these before they are also frequently called Pike Killifish which makes zero sense because they are about as closely related to Killifish as you and I are. I usually call them Pike Livebearers although they are not closely related to Pikes either but they sure do feed like Pikes! Northern Pikes! These guys are fish eaters and like MEATY foods. I have also recently got the Female (the larger fish below) to eat several medium sized earthworms I have been offering them I collect in the yard. They will also eat mosquito larva and you outta be able to coax them into eating frozen foods too. Feed them the same type of stuff you would offer a South American Fresh Water Barracuda or any of the NeedleFish/Gars we offered in the hobby quite often. Like I already mentioned these are livebearers and a mature female can drop up to about 300 fry although I would say 100 is about average. I found a very good hobbyist written article on the Internet and you can check it out here- Dan Marentette's article on Pike Livebearers. If you would like to give this species a whirl I highly recommend you bid on this offering! I have only seem wild caught Belonosox available about 3 times in the last decade and each time they were either too beat up and thin to bother messing with or both sexes were not available. When I saw these at the importers and I saw they were in good condition AND both sexes were available I dove on them immediately and so should you if these are something you would like to work with! Lastly I also recommend you keep these in a well planted tank. These fish like cover and in a bare tank they tend to be nervous and flighty and they are just not the type of fish that will do well for long in a bare breeding tank! Shipping on this Pr. of fish will be FREE and I Guarantee live arrival of spotless fish in perfect condition!
