Description

Ataeniobius toweri or the Blue-tailed Goodeid is a beautiful and active livebearer native to Mexico. Females can reach a length of a little over 3 inches with males a little smaller. Males have a shimmering blue tail as the name suggests. They are fairly good natured and make a pretty good community fish. They prefer a planted aquarium and require clean water conditions. Hard water is preferred. Mine are kept and bred in very hard tap water with a pH of 7.8. They accept a variety of frozen and flake foods eagerly, and their diet should include a vegetable component. I feed spirulina flakes and thawed, shelled peas. Females can give birth to fairly large numbers of fairly large fry. I�ve had as many as 40 from one spawning, and fry are about .5 inches at birth. In this auction you will receive 8 mixed sex juveniles at 1.5-2 inches in length. Like all of our fish, these guys are tank raised here and healthy.
