Description

Up for auction are 1 young adult pair Xenotoca sp. "San Marcos". They are young breeding size adults of between 1-2 inches. The males already show coloration, but they will continue developing their colors over the next few months.

These are, in my opinion, the most beautiful goodeids around! Just look at the pictures below! It's not the flash or the lighting that makes them look that stunning, they *really* look like that! They are relatives of the more common redtail goodeid Xenotoca eiseni, but much more colorful. They have a lot more vivid colors, redder red, much more blue and a golden center part that X. eiseni lacks completely. They are also a tad bit more peaceful, although they still cannot be called "community fish." In larger tanks with not too fragile fish they can actually be kept in a community. They are also excellent tankmates for medium sized cichlids. Mine held their own excellently against a breeding pair of Convict cichlids! Not a single shredded fin!

Our particular population also has many colorful females that develop some to lots of red on their tails and have a blue shine in the back part of their bodies. See the females below There is quite a bit of selective breeding potential there.

Don't let this opportunity slip away...these guys aren't offered very often...
