Description

Missed the last auction? Up for grabs is one more young pair of Belonesox - Pike Top Minnows, and this is going to be the last pair for a long time so jump on and get to bidding. If you like live bearers and have a sadistic side, give these guys a try. Originally from Central America, they were released into a canal in South Florida in the 60's by a research firm. My breeders were collected last summer south of Naples. After a few trial runs of raising the fry and getting them onto fish food, They now readily accept flake foods and dried bloodworms although if you want to get them big and fat and in breeding condition they still need live fish to gulp down. Fry will start on baby brine shrimp and quickly move to moina and live insect larvae but can be eased onto commercial diets by 3 weeks of age. Females can grow to 6-8" with males staying around 3.5". The pair in this auction is 5 months old and, if conditioned properly, will be ready to spawn within the next 2 months. PLEASE READ the "JUST ME" section BEFORE bidding!!!
