Description

Gambusia geiseri or the Big Spring mosquito fish is native to freshwater springs in Texas, and has been introduced to other areas of the Southwest. It�s not commonly available, but is quite easy to keep and breed. Typically silver gray in color with occasional black markings on the fins. Females reach about 2 inches, and males reach 1-1.5 inches. They are active and fun to watch. Females give birth to fairly large batches of small fry which can be reared on artemia nauplii, and crushed flakes. Like most Gambusia, adults will eagerly eat their fry so they must be reared separately from their parents. In this auction, you will receive a group of six fish ranging in size from .75-1.5 inches in length. I�ll include at least one adult breeding pair as well as both sexes of younger fish. Shipping via USPS Priority mail will be $15. Express shipping will run $35-$45 depending on location . Live arrival is guaranteed with express mail only, but these guys tend to ship pretty well. A 72 hr. heat pack will be included with either shipping method at no additional charge. We're always happy to combine shipping, so please check out our other auctions for more cool fish and plants.
