Care/feeding notes: These interesting little livebearers are not often seen. These North American native marine livebearers REQUIRE live food. They must be fed every day as they cannot store much fat. Fortunately, they will take and live well on a diet of NEWLY HATCHED brine shrimp. This should be supplemented at least once a month with marine copepods, which you can culture or purchase at any marine store. I've found the best way to keep them is in a small 2 - 5 gallon tank set up as a refugium, with live sand and filled with Caulerpa. If you keep them well fed and give them a good home, they will reproduce for many generations with little extra attention, as they have done for me. I've been keeping this group for several years and several generations, with occasional additions of new specimens as I mix up and break up the group. I've now split them into 4 groups and need to move some out to keep the colonies from becoming too crowded. Photo is of some of the fish for sale, and shows why Im a writer, not a photographer! Available only to Continental USA buyers.
