Description

You are bidding on four young tank-raised one-half inch (more or less) long Cnesterodon decenmaculatus (or decemmaculatus, Fishbase lists it both ways), the Ten-Spot Livebearer from Uruguay. This is an easy, prolific little livebearer. Adults get to 1 for the male and 1.5 for the female. I will do my best to make sure you get 2 pair. The originals came from a good friend who collected them while in Uruguay in December of 2010. Pedigree information is available on request. These fish are typically kept 72-80F) neutral-to-hard (100-300 PPM) neutral (pH 6.8-7.2) water. The fish is omnivorous, and will require some vegetable in their diet. Live food is not required, but good water changes are helpful. I keep them in a colony in a 10 gallon long well-planted tank and fry are not often cannibalized if well fed. Fish will be shipped in Breather Bags with Ammo Lock 2 to reduce ammonia in transit, but I cannot guarantee live delivery via Priority (about $14). Please use Express( about $30) if you must. These shipping prices are AVERAGE PRICES for US delivery. I ship to the USA and have had success shipping to Japan and England via International Global Priority, about $55. Sorry, because of customs regulations, I cannot ship to Canada or France, and I CANNOT GUARANTEE shipping to other countries. Combine auctions and save on shipping costs! Specifics on collection site are available on request. Photo credits: Picture by Teixeira de Mello, F. , via Fishbase.org.
