You are bidding on a pair of tank-raised 1.5 inch (plus) long Ilyodon furcidens from Mexico. This is the Basslet Goodeid livebearer. The originals came from Jalisco province of Mexico, where they are found in the wild. The parents of these fish were given to me several years ago by Bob McKeand, a fellow ALA member and ALA committee member, show Judge and great fish keeper. The photo is a similar adult pair. These fish are typically kept in cool (66-80F), hard (150-300 ppm) alkaline (pH7.2-7.8) water. The fish is omnivorous, and will require some vegetable in their diet. Live food is not required, but good water changes are a plus. This fish will eat most types of algae and keep your glass clean. It really enjoys eating vegetable matter and eats duckweed. It also makes a good dither fish for larger African cichlids. I keep them in a colony in a 55 gallon tank and fry are not cannibalized if well fed. Fish will be bagged individually in Breather Bags with Ammo Lock 2 to reduce ammonia in transit, but I cannot guarantee live delivery via Priority ($16). Please use Express($32) if you must. These shipping prices are AVERAGE PRICES for US delivery. I ship to the USA and have had success shipping to Japan via International Global Priority, about $50. I do not ship to Canada, and CANNOT GUARANTEE shipping to other countries under any circumstances. I have been exchanging fish via the American Livebearer Association for years, I just have extra right now!
