You are bidding on two pair of tank-raised one inch (plus) long Ameca splendens. This is the Butterfly Goodeid livebearer. The originals came from the Rio Ameca drainage of the Jalisco Province of Mexico, where they are critically endangered in the wild due to habitat destruction. The parents of these fish were given to me several years ago by Jim Langhammer, Fellow of the American Livebearer Association, and were collected in the wild by Dr. Miller of the University of Michigan around 1970. These fish are typically kept in cool (68-78F) hard (175-300 PPM) alkaline (pH7.2-7.8) water. The fish is omnivorous, and will require some vegetable in their diet. Live food is not required, but good water changes are helpful. I keep them in a colony in a 20 gallon long tank and fry are not cannibalized if well fed. Fish will be bagged individually in Breather Bags with Ammo Lock 2 to reduce ammonia in transit, via Priority ($17). Please use Express($32) if you must. Live delivery is guaranteed if Express Mail is selected. Guarantee extends to the fish only, you just pay the postage. These shipping prices are AVERAGE PRICES for US delivery. I ship to the USA and have had success shipping to Japan via International Global Priority, about $50. Sorry, because of customs regulations, I cannot ship to Canada, and CANNOT GUARANTEE shipping to other countries. I have been exchanging fish via the American Livebearer Association for years, I just have extra right now! Photo copyright 2006 by the seller
