Description

Ameca are a beautiful and undemanding livebearer that is native to Mexico. They are very active fish which reach a length of about 4 inches. They are easy to keep and breed. Females give birth to relatively small broods (usually less than 25) or fairly large fry (usually about 0.5 in at birth). Adults typically don't eat or harass their young and they can be left to grow with the adults. They eagerly accept flake, frozen and live foods. A vegetable component is important in their diet. I give mine spirulina flakes, shelled peas, and duckweed! Also, they love hair algae, but typically don't bother aquarium plants. In this auction you will receive 8 unsexed juvenile fish at around 1 inch in length. Like all of our fish, they are tank raised here and healthy. Shipping via USPS priority mail is $15, $30 if you prefer express mail. An insulated box and heat pack will be provided with either method. Live arrival is guarunteed with Express mail only, but these guys typically ship very well.
