Seven, one-half inch juvenile Xiphophorus birchmanni Rio Altapezco, These fry have the a Spot Gene in which some adults will show vertical dark bars on the body and other adults will show very pretty large dark spots instead. See the photo of both varieties. The Sheepshead Swordtail is another sword from the prettiest of the sword clade the cortezi group. By any standard this is another very pretty wild type sword with electric yellow fins, yellow body and irregular brown bars or spots. The dorsal fin is large and almost a sail fin. Their parents are from the Xiphophorus Genetic Stock Center in Texas. This is an easily maintained and bred fish that likes cool water. This fish is rare in the hobby ..........
