Hello folks!
Happy Friday!
I have another very nice Breeding Group of 6 Swordtails to offer. Plus a few Young Red Eyes!
These fish were NOT bred by me. They are Pineapple Wag Swordtails and they were bred by Ed Parker. I feel Ed's got the best strain of Pineapple Wags I have ever had the opportunity to have and this strain breeds 100% true. These are about 9 Months old and still growing. They get very large and VERY beefy just like all Ed's swords do.
I get a lot of E Mails asking me why I don't have more Male Swordtails available in these groups and now is a good time to answer that question. This group of 2 Trios was put in a 20 long about 10 weeks ago. I also use this tank to hold Corydoras catfish so there is always Cory's moving in and out of it. I almost use them as dither fish in a way yet tonight when I pulled all the Garland out of this tank (at least 30 feet of it, maybe a little more even) so I could catch and photograph these fish I found one AWESOME Male that looks even nicer than he did when I acquired him and one Male that is ready for the bone yard. You can see both Males in my photo's below. And THAT'S why I usually don't even bother trying to keep 2 breeding adult Male Swordtails in a tank together. Especially BIG beefy Swords like this strain produces.
My point here folks is don't feel you are doing something wrong if you are losing Male Swords. It's damn near impossible to keep them together if they both want to breed with the Females in the tank. One is always going to over power the other one and cause it to lose weight and finally harass it to the point it just withers away and dies. I DO have much better luck keeping a few Males in a tank with NO FEMALES at all. In that type of setup with cover they tend to tolerate each other better but even then you can have difficulties.
So what can you do?
You can raise drops up to the point the fish start to sex out and then sell them YOUNG. Keep your one breeding group, maybe a reserve Male stashed away in another tank and sell off the young at an early age. That's what I see many breeders doing and in my opinion it's the way to go.
Back to this offering- Win it and I will send you the NICE Male below along with all 5 of his ladies!
I will also send you a nice group of 5 unsexed Red Eye Swordtails at about 1 inch long you can raise up and either breed by themselves or try crossing with these Pineapple Wags.
There are quite a few nice strains of Albino Pineapple Swordtails (they are sometimes called Lemon Swords) around but I have never seen a strain of Albino Pineapple wags, perhaps you can be the first to create them!
Shipping is FREE with this offering and I Guarantee live arrival of NICE healthy Swordtails just like you can see below!
Oh, and I will add some high quality foods to the box too!

These first 7 photo's show 3 NICE Females with the subdominant Male I am not sending you. He's beat to a pulp, poor guy.

These photo's show the dominant Male along with the rest of the Females I am sending you. BOTH Males were beautiful just 10 weeks ago.
