This auction is for 8 healthy RED EYED ALBINO KOI LYRETAIL swordtails, measuring 1 inch, born and raised with love in my home. Lyretail was previously known as "double sword" in the early 1980's. These are just over 2 months old, too young to tell male from female, but with 8 fish you will probably get a few of each gender, and they will breed in another 5 months. All eight fish will be red eyed albino with beautiful lyretail, although they are still young so their tails will not show any sword yet. I guarantee that all eight fish will have lyretails upon reaching adulthood.

This swordtail breed is a beautiful variant with a filamentous lyretail and striking red eyes. Since red eyes are autosomal recessive, all these fish will breed true, producing 100% red eyed babies. They will not produce any black eyed babies unless you mate them with other black eyed fish. All fish will have a lyretail. All experts know that lyretail males are almost always sterile and unable to mate successfully due to their long gonopodium. If you wish to breed these fish, you will need some non-lyretail albino koi swordtails (check out my other auctions for non-lyretail albino koi swordtails). Lyretail is autosomal dominant, which means these lyretail fish will produce lyretail babies about 50% of the time when mated with non-lyretail fish. It is this low (50%) yield which makes the lyretail mutation relatively more difficult to breed.

LIVE ARRIVAL GUARANTEED. USPS Priority Mail is $12. I can NOT combine shipping for muliple orders because my fish boxes are always full. Packaging will include styrofoam insulation and breather bags. Payment must be made within 24 hours of auction close. If no payment is received within 24 hours of auction close, the items will be put back up for sale and a breach of sale will be reported to Aquabid. The digestive system of the fish will be cleared for 2 days AFTER payment is received, in order to keep their shipping water clean. The fish will be shipped within 3 days after payment is received, however the fish will NOT be shipped on a Thursday or Friday in order to prevent the package from sitting idle in the post office on Sunday. In the rare event of fish death, please send clear photo of dead fish inside unopened bag within 1 hour of first delivery attempt.
