I use Breeder Boxes as traps for these Swordtails. They work GREAT for that especially if you loosely fill them with filter floss so the fry can hide in that stuff. Female swordtails will NOT chase fry into that floss.
Hello Folks! Happy Friday! This is my last auction for the weekend, I had a heck of a day messing around at the "New" Photobucket. I took ALL the Photo's and moving picture below about an hour ago. This auction is for 1 Male Jet Black sword, 5 Female Jet Black Swords and that BIG BEAUTIFUL Female Blood Red Velvet Swordtail. ALL these fish are in perfect condition except for the Male. He has a little bit of tail damage from some fighting he was involved in well over 3 Months ago (around Thanksgiving) it is completely healed but visible damage is there. The Female Blood Red Velvet Swordtail IS pre-hit by him and she WILL drop roughly half Blood Red fish and Jet Black fish and the last drop she gave me consisted of 83 fry! She is also NOT an old fish, she is less than 1 year old. This is the LAST Male Black Swordtail I have I am willing to sell. I can and will get more of this strain but probably not until sometime around June. These have been great fish for me and I have got a lot of fry from them. All these fish were brought into my fish room the week before Thanksgiving and they are ROCK SOLID healthy fish. One word of warning on this group- I do NOT think this Male will be able to get along with any other Male swords you attempt to put him with. You can try it but you really outta set these fish up in their own tank and then trap the females when you feel they are ready to drop. That is what I have been doing and it worked out VERY well for me. You can keep young Males together but as soon as they discover sex it's time to start splitting them up OR selling them off. If you don't they will do the culling for you rather quickly too. On a brighter note he WILL mate with any Female Swords you may have and he would be great for stud service especially if you are sitting on some nice Female Lyretail Swords. ALL these fish will be packed ONE per bag and I GUARANTEE live arrival of ALL healthy fish that are in perfect condition just like you can see below. I will include some high quality foods they will eat right out of the bags and shipping is 100% on me!
