Description

These swordtails are 3 generations from a hybrid with a common red swordtail female and a Xiphophorus gordonii male. I was trying to see what traits could be worked into a common swordtail. These fish look mostly like a sword, with a little more "wild type" coloring. The "green" with red stripe males have a wonderful irridescence to them! I am parting with these guys to make room for progress in my project...they are very healthy fish and will grow fairly large. I will send 6 fish, which are just beginning to sex out and will try to send 3 males and 3 females. These fish would be useful in adding some new genes to linebred sword lines needing a boost. They drop lots of fry...so no fertility issues with these! The fish in the picture may not be the exact fish, but represent those I am offering.
