Description

For sale: half a dozen of the non-albino clear swordtails shown below:

The fish that is probably their mother:

Basically, the story on these little ones is that I'm trying to breed for a calico swordtail (evenly spotted red, white, and black). Their mother was a random find, a really awesome wild type spotted swordtail. She's got very clearly defined small black spots, which is a nice trait. My fish currently have blobby spots, so I wanted to mix her genes into the breeding pool.
Unfortunately she was already pregnant with who knows who's kids, and when the kids came out they didn't have spots at all. It's sad, but non-spotted fish can't have any part in my breeding program, so they've got to go.

Swordtails are very tolerant of a wide range of water conditions, pH, and hardnesses. These were raised in water that is pH 8.5, 10 degrees of general hardness, and about 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Shipping is free USPS 2 day priority.
I'll throw in an extra fish or two to protect against dead-on-arrival.
Added by the Seller on Mon Nov 15 07:39:30 2010:

More info: The fish are one month old as shown in these videos and pictures, and by the time the auction is over they will be six weeks old. I've shipped fish at this age in the past and it works fine. I could also hold them for longer if the auction winner desires it.
